About Jobless

Jobless is a job board for US software engineering roles: CS students, new grads, and early-career engineers. It exists because most job boards fill up with reposted, expired, or duplicate listings — Jobless only shows roles we can verify are currently open.

How sourcing works

Every listing comes from one of two places: Hacker News "Who is hiring?" threads, or company career pages fetched directly from their own job board APIs (Greenhouse, Ashby). Scheduled jobs check both sources daily, parse new postings, and add them automatically — we don't hand-curate the board, so coverage reflects what companies are actually posting that day.

How listings expire

Listings are removed automatically after a set window rather than staying up indefinitely. That means a live URL on Jobless is a role we believe is still open — if a job page 404s, the role expired, it wasn't taken down for any other reason.

Structured data

Every job page carries schema.org JobPosting markup (title, description, posting/expiry dates, employment type, salary when known, and location), so the same data we show on the page is available to search engines and AI assistants in a structured form.
