Description
A data and analytics platform for agriculture, helping farmers, buyers, and sellers make better decisions through forecasting and market intelligence.
US-based, remote-friendly. Full-time. US citizen/visa holders only.
Tech stack: Python, Django, JavaScript/React, Node.js, PostgreSQL, Google Cloud, Docker, AI agents, multimodal AI, Pinecone.
Responsibilities:
- Lead software development across the product and internal tooling, using AI as a force multiplier
- Maintain and evolve the core codebase, databases, infrastructure, and CI
- Own a large-scale geospatial/production database spanning multiple crop types, optimized for fast dashboard queries
- Build and improve internal tools for tracking data pipeline status
- Resolve technical debt and harden security
- Coordinate with contract developers and future hires as the team grows
- Design architecture that scales cleanly to new crop types and regions
- Contribute directly to the product and technology roadmap
- Report directly to the CEO and Head of Product
What they're looking for:
- 6+ years of relevant software experience, ideally at a startup
- Proven ability to ship production software end-to-end (frontend, backend, infra)
- Strong with Python, modern JS frameworks, cloud infrastructure (GCP preferred), and SQL at scale
- Genuine, hands-on use of AI coding tools (Cursor, Claude, Copilot, etc.) as a productivity multiplier
- Strong communicator, comfortable running engineering meetings and writing clear docs
- Curiosity about agriculture and a founder's mentality
- Nice to have: geospatial data, agtech, or data-pipeline-automation experience
Compensation: $185K-$210K + up to 1.00% equity.
Interview process: intro call with a co-founder, conversation with the founder/CEO, then a technical interview/task. Evaluation typically takes 1-3 months.
